An Australian teacher, Mr Grant Geoffrey, has been found guilty of “producing written child pornography material” by role playing as a submissive girl in online chat rooms.
There were no images or photographs involved, there was not even a minor involved. Mr Geoffrey was not even seeking to set up a sexual meeting. The offending material was all written (Mr Geoffrey passing off as a 13 year old girl to fulfill his fantasies).
Such behavior is criminalized because it encourages others to engage in behavior which could lead to mistreatment of children.
In Australia, there’s a maximum term of imprisonment of 12 months with these offenses.
