Why use a BDSM Contract?
The purpose of writing up a Contract is to help with the following:
- to bring up issues which would otherwise be difficult to raise;
- to make sure you are both on the same page;
- to refer back to regularly to see if rules need changing or limits need to be lifted or imposed;
- to formalize your dynamic.
What can the BDSM Contract Outline be used for?
Self-evaluation. Before you start negotiating, it may be worthwhile thinking about what you want and need from your relationship/dynamic. If you like, use this sheet alone at first to consider each issue.
Negotiation tool. If you know your wants and needs, you may go through the worksheet together to see where you both stand on each issue. Are you mostly on the same page? What points are you willing to compromise on?
Template structure. Once you feel ready to write your agreement, just start typing into this sheet. Add/delete anything you like. If you’d prefer a more formal document with standard terms already written for you, use a Contract template.
